Simon McChesney - Tenor Saxophone, Vocals

Simon studied geography/sociology at Hull Uni. before taking up saxophone and moving to London. He then spent 3 years living and teaching English in Kenya, Africa, which proved to be a pivotal experience.

He returned to London determined to pursue music, and spent the next 15 years in a variety of London bands: Ibile (African), Battersea Arts Centre Big Band, Wavet (soca, zouk, reggae), Soul Fingers (60`s soul), Tumbaito (salsa), Puppy Phat (funk), and a season with Zippos Circus.

As well as enriching Diplomacy with this huge range of experience, Simon is also passing his wisdon on to the next generation of musicians; teaching sax, flute and clarinet both privately and in schools.
